Clearwater, United States PODS Enterprises, LLC Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

PODS is reimagining the moving business, and we’re building a new online experience to meet the way modern customers want to engage with their move. We envision a future where a customer can book, manage, and engage with their selected partners all through PODS’ digital presence, making the moving experience as seamless and stress free as possible. We’re looking for a Principal Engineer who will play a pivotal role in creating and owning the technology vision to make this future a reality.

This role will report to the VP of Online Customer Experience and will work alongside the Director of Engineering as well as our Technical Program, Product, and Design leaders in the Upper Funnel, Booking, Post-Booking, and Commercial workstreams. This role is the most senior engineer in the Online Customer Experience organization and will be responsible for developing the three-year technology vision, guiding the engineering leads of each product team on how to achieve that vision, and providing strategic guidance for our teams on engineering and technology best practices. This role is highly cross-functional and will work with partners across IT (including Enterprise Architecture), Operations, Finance, and Marketing. This role will require excellent written and oral communication skills, data-driven analyses and insights, high business judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for building excellent technology products and customer experiences.

We’re excited about the future of moving, and if you’re passionate about delighting customers in a rapidly evolving space, this role is for you

A Day in The Life

Here at PODS, our Digital team is organized into two-pizza teams, or dedicated software development teams with PM/UX resourcing that focus on a specific customer workstream. We work in an Agile environment, and therefore focus on building a long-term vision, and executing that vision in sprints by creating meaningful user stories for our development teams to deliver on. We dive deep into our data, as we believe that data can help us better understand our customers. Where data alone can’t answer questions, we facilitate research to better understand our customers and how we can better build technology to help meet their needs. We learn rapidly, and bias towards testing new experiences quickly to see what works (or what doesn’t), and we incorporate those learnings into our future roadmap. Every day brings new opportunities, and we are excited to continually challenge our standard practices to improve. If you’re looking for a dynamic environment with high opportunities for professional and personal growth, this role may be a great fit for you.
