What is the Caminos Program?

As a Spanish and English-speaking teammate, you would be helping children who have recently migrated to the United States and are seeking opportunities for reunification with family as well as the chance to pursue their education and legal immigration cases. What does this job do specifically?

  • Acts as a primary point of contact and liaison for the youth, family, identified sponsors, and external agencies
  • Responsible for the completion of admission requirements, assessments and Individual Service Plans within regulatory timeframes and including the participation of the youth, family, and potential sponsors.
  • Coordinates the timely collection and completion of required documentation for youth in care.
  • Ensures that the youth received the full range of services identified in the ISP in an integrated and comprehensive manner.
  • Provides assessment of the relationship between the youth and the sponsor, utilizing safe screening methods to ensure that the identified sponsor is appropriate for the youth.
  • Provides direct assistance to the sponsor to ensure thorough completion of documentation required for timely release of the youth.
  • Creates required time-sensitive reports and documentation of progress toward discharge
  • Provides daily, weekly and monthly submission of required updates to internal and external team members.
  • Facilitate regular case management meetings for individuals, groups, and families.
  • Coordinate with the Everstand staff members and community resources to address the youths' service needs.
  • Evaluate the child’s/youth’s/family’s progress toward goal attainment on a designated basis in line with individual service planning and discharge plan goals.
  • Responsible for taking the lead role in making the transfer and release recommendations, as well as coordinating the release of a youth from care in accordance with regulatory timeframes.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with families, children/youth, colleagues, consultants, and community agencies
  • Ensure assigned case records meet documentation standards as defined by both federal and state regulations
  • Ensures required contacts with Treatment Foster Care parents, both by phone and in person take place and are documented in accordance with regulatory expectations.
  • Provide in ratio supervision of youth as required.
  • Identify supervision and /or professional training needs to supervisor as they arise
  • Ensure filing compliance in accordance to ORR and state regulations related to positions documentation responsibility
  • Perform other duties, as requested, to achieve agency goals.


Available shifts: Back-End Tuesday-Saturday (9am - 5pm Tues-Fri, and Saturday 2pm - 10pm)


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or human services
  • 2 years’ experience of employment within the social service field. A wide variety of experiences may be accepted - please click apply to talk to our recruitment team
  • Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal). See below for required language skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university and 1-year experience in providing direct services to children/youth and families preferred.
  • Child Welfare and Case Management experience preferred.

Required Language Skills

  • Spanish-speaking and reading are a must. We accept candidates who have varying degrees of fluency. For this position really being comfortable at the conversational level is key, as you're welcoming new kids into the program and providing an orientation to the program in Spanish.   • Everstand is OK with applicants for whom English is a second language, however, please note that documentation of notes and all competency-based exams (e.g. First Aid and CPR class) are in English.
