The System Administrator will be instrumental in managing and optimizing the organization’s system infrastructure to support business needs. This position will focus on maintaining servers in a virtual and non-virtual environment, provide technical support for end-users and business systems, and coordinating IT activities with other departments and stakeholders. The System Administrator will also play a key role in disaster recovery planning, software validation, patch management, and system security.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Maintain and manage servers locally and in cloud, including services such as Bartender, SQL, AD, Azure AD, and other cloud platforms.
  • Maintain and manage UAC through the organization, including but not limited to server access, VPN, software applications, and other services that require user credentials.
  • Perform system management and patching for Windows-based environments.
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s Ticketing system.
  • Ensure adequacy of the system and its implementation to support 24/7 uptime commitments.
  • Assist in budget planning and policy creation to support business system’s needs.
  • Conduct testing of the organization’s business continuity plan to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and manage backup systems.
  • Supports local system hardware and software and recommends necessary or preemptive upgrades for budget planning.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for organization users.
  • Conduct software validations when necessary.
  • Assist the Infrastructure Administrator in the management and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure.
  • Provides additional support for various IT projects and other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required in related disciplines desired or equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of information technology experience
  • 4+ years of system administration experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • 4+ years working in a Microsoft server environment.
  • 4+ years working with virtual environments.
  • 2+ years working with Azure AD and O365
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Technical Competencies

Understanding of Azure AD (required)

Understanding of O365 and Online Exchange (required)

Understanding of Windows Server On-Prem (required)

Experience with Fortinet (preferred)

Experience with Cisco (preferred)

Experience with DHCP, DNS, VPN, IPSec, PPTP (preferred)

Behavioral & Basic Skill Competencies

Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be willing to work off hours for Critical Incidents

Must be a self-starter, results oriented person who works well in a team and multi-vendor environment.
