Job Summary: The Training and Development Specialist will support the Property Management Division with the assessment, development, implementation and facilitation of training and development programs for the department. They will conduct training onsite and at the corporate office.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates company core values.
- Assesses training and development needs of the department through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with senior leadership, managers and employees.
- Learns the functions of a leasing agent, property manager, maintenance technician and grounds employee in order to develop and tailor training specific to the skills and requirements of the job.
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, procedural and skills training for employees that aligns with NP Dodge policies, procedures, and Fair Housing laws.
- Develops specific training for managers and aspiring managers.
- Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, interactive sessions and videos.
- Supports department projects and developmental activities.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Reasonable and reliable attendance and timeliness when reporting to work and completing work.
- Interacts well with others.
Other functions:
- Provide periodic office coverage at a property to support the onsite teams.
- Develop into the primary AppFolio resource and trainer.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least two years of training experience required.
- At least one year of property management experience required.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement effective training.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
Special Demands/Physical Requirements:
- Maintain valid driver’s license in order to travel to a variety of properties within the Omaha/Lincoln/Council Bluffs area to conduct onsite training as needed.
- Ability to navigate a residential property which may include stairs, balconies and walking.
