Our client is a thriving metal scrap yard on the east side of Madison and are dedicated to recycling and processing scrap metal We are seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as heavy equipment operators 

As a heavy equipment operator, you will play a crucial role in the operations by safely and efficiently operating various heavy machinery to move, load, and process scrap metal. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, operating equipment such as excavators, tower cranes, forklifts, loaders, and scrap shears. Work is largely performed outdoors moving materials in a metal scrap yard.

Schedule: 7am - 3:30pm Monday- Friday

Pay: $22-23/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate heavy equipment to move, load, and unload scrap metal.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Work effectively as a team member to achieve production goals.
  • Assist in general yard maintenance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Strong safety record and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
