Chief of Staff

Position Summary:
Roots Community Health is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO on the organization’s top priorities and strategic growth, manage the Office of the CEO, coordinate special projects, and serve as the primary liaison between the CEO and all external functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
○ Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner for the CEO, striving to
efficiently allocate the CEO’s time to achieve optimal efficiency and deliver
maximum impact across the organization and in the field of community health.
○ Develop a comprehensive communications and external engagement plan for the CEO.
○ Serve as the primary liaison between the CEO and the organization’s external
functions.
○ Staff and prepare the CEO for meetings, presentations, and public appearances.
○ Prepare briefings and talking points for the CEO on key issues.
○ Serve as a collaborative resource for the CEO’s team, ensuring smooth operations across the organization.
○ Assist in the development and management of budgets, working collaboratively
with the finance team, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic
priorities.
○ Monitor and evaluate the performance of programs and initiatives, providing
insight and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership.
○ Foster efficient information flow to ensure improved decision-making processes
and ensure implementation and follow-through.
○ Identify areas for process improvement and innovation, implementing solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
○ Oversee the resource development and marketing/communications functions,
fostering strong collaboration between these teams and the CEO.
○ Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including donors,
community leaders, government officials, and the media.
○ Manage and represent Roots Community Health at external events and
conferences.
○ Develop and implement communication strategies to increase brand awareness
and build positive community relations.
○ Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors.
Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Communications, or a related field preferred.
● Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, with a proven track record in managing complex projects and teams.
● Strong understanding of healthcare and public health, and experience working with non-profit organizations preferred.
● Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, community engagement, and relationship building.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
● Passion for Roots Community Health’s mission and a commitment to community health, social justice, and impact.
