DEPARTMENT: FOODRx

LED BY: FOODRx Operations Supervisor

HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours/week

WORK SETTING: Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY

The FOODRx Operations Coordinator works with the FOODRX Operations Supervisor to coordinate production and delivery of FOODRx boxes. This position is essential for fulfilling the FOODRx suite of services including the production of prescription food boxes for delivery to various sites. To be successful in this role, you’ll bring clear communication skills, project coordination and personal initiative. In keeping with Second Harvest Heartland’s values, this position will also work with a variety of cross-departmental staff ranging from food sourcing to volunteer services to transportation and will work to sustain a positive work dynamic among our teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling and implementation of volunteer box packing in partnership with Operations and Volunteer Engagement to meet FOODRx healthcare food box programs
  • Provide detailed menu and critical production plans to support an effective box packing process
  • Partners closely with established FOODRx programs to ensure successful product delivery at multiple sites
  • Coordinate volunteer packing sessions and skilled volunteer work with Volunteer Services department
  • Engage with skilled volunteers to assure a positive, meaningful experience at SHH
  • When applicable, provide customer service assistance for FOODRx partners related to transportation and product quality
  • Work in partnership with Inventory Specialist to ensure accurate accounting of raw goods and finished boxes
  • Understand safety policies and actively promotes safe practices in the workplace
  • Ensure food safety regulations are being followed for the storage and distribution of boxes by partnering with FOODRx distribution sites for food safety inspection and coordination
  • In the event of a recall, provide internal management of recall procedure and assist FOODRx Operations Supervisor on external communications
  • Assist FOODRx Operations Supervisor in process improvement for production, delivery of boxes and food procurement sourcing
  • Coordinate food procurement for all FOODRx projects in partnership with Purchasing Specialist including transfers to ensure product availability for box packing
  • Provide administrative support for clinical partnerships and program grant administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a High School diploma or equivalent (some college preferred) and a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in warehouse/operations/customer service experience.
  • Willingness to obtain any necessary certification, license or registration required.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate production process and work cross-departmentally
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn inventory management computer software
  • Valid MN driver’s license and good driving record in accordance with SHH insurance carrier acceptable guidelines
  • Access to a reliable form of transportation
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and valued.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office, Office 365, and the ability to learn other computer software programs.
  • Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and enthusiasm, both individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
