Overview of Purchasing and Inventory Control: We are seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Control person to join our growing team. In the Purchasing and Inventory Control position, you will be responsible for all aspects of ordering, procurement, supplier relations and inventory management. We are looking for someone who is a self motivated, can wear multiple hats, and desires a working environment where collaboration is a necessity. Responsibilities of Purchasing and Inventory Control:

  • Utilize ERP system to monitor inventory levels and track stock movements
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan inventory requirements
  • Procure materials through various channels, including buying from suppliers
  • Coordinate logistics for incoming shipments
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and pricing
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, such as cycle counting and kanban
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to inventory control


Qualifications for Purchasing and Inventory Control:

  • Prior experience in inventory control, purchasing and/or shipping/receiving preferred
  • Computer literate - knowledge of inventory management systems, preferably Epicor ERP, as well as Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with procurement processes and negotiating contracts is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Highly motivated person; capacity to learn and willing to work/dependable
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately despite multiple interruptions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift 50+ pounds
  • Chauffeur's license is preferred, but not required
