Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Field Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of local flooring projects within a 2 ½ hour radius of Harrisburg, PA. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our customers. This position will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless project execution and will be responsible for providing daily updates on all managed projects, including photo updates from the installer, signed field authorizations, change order documentation, competition forms, and warranty letters to the customer. The role also involves local travel related to ensuring that our company’s quality standards are upheld throughout all project phases.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Scheduling Projects:
  • Develop detailed project plans and timelines.
  • Interpret and read plans and specifications related to floor covering installations.
  • Communicate scope of work effectively to installers.
  • Managing Project Budgets:
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Coordinating with Clients and Stakeholders:
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Work with contractors and stakeholders to ensure project satisfaction.
  • Managing Project Teams:
  • Coordinate work among subcontractors and team members, ensuring they have the necessary resources.
  • Resolve conflicts as necessary.
  • Monitoring Project Progress:
  • Track project milestones and proactively identify potential issues or delays.
  • Ensuring Quality Control:
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure all work meets industry standards and project specifications.
  • Managing Project Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including contracts and invoices.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure material deliveries align with job schedules.
  • Provide necessary information to the estimating team to address change orders and customer requests during project execution.
  • Prepare reports for management regarding the status of projects.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the flooring industry or construction work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of flooring installers, ensuring efficient and safe work practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy.
