Job Summary:

The staff accountant is responsible for providing general, financial, clerical, and
administrative services as directed by the General Accounting Manager. The staff accountant will also be
responsible for the day-to-day tasks in a financial department. They are responsible for ensuring that
bookkeeping is complete and accurate, while providing and maintaining strong organizational skills and
multi-tasking abilities.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintain and update accounting records and files.
Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned
journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all
operational management accounts.
Track and monitor petty cash, and daily funds to ensure compliance with company policies and
procedures.
Maintains and monitors daily cash and deposits to ensure appropriate controls and segregation of
duties.
Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing account information and trends.
Maintains finance related documents online and in the office.
Administrative duties responding to clients via email, files, and handling invoices.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents
to perform annual audits.
Assists the Senior Accountant & CFO as necessary and work to improve financial processes.
Supports and backs up the AP/Purchasing/Payroll Specialist during vacations and absences,
maintaining strictest confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Staff Accountant Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelors degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
Ability and willingness to keep maintain confidentiality
Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
Ability to adapt, prioritize, meet deadlines and organize efficiently
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets.

Physical requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
