INTRODUCTION:

4-Horn Traffic & Barricade is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and safety minded Traffic Control Planner. 4-Horn Traffic & Barricade offers competitive wages and benefits. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Traffic Control Planner is responsible for designing and creating traffic control plans to meet specific needs of customer utilizing TxDOT and MUTCD specifications to achieve desired effects. This is a production position requiring hands on knowledge and usage of tools and equipment to produce finished products.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Works with engineers and management and other documents required for individual projects
  • Develops detailed design drawings and specifications by preparing sample layouts and Traffic Control Plans
  • Reviews construction documents and jobsites to create Traffic Control Plans
  • Develops plans for traffic control layouts from instructions
  • Uses software (Invarion) to create full-scale and detailed traffic control plans
  • Provide verbal and written reports as needed for traffic control plans and designs
  • Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations
  • Prioritize projects on the basis of greatest need
  • Vision sufficient to read diagrams, manuals reports, rules, regulations, laws and plans
  • Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and selects style and size of type
  • Obtains approval of MOT plans by submitting rough layout for approval to state agencies
  • Prepares specifications for work to be performed by others
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have good communication skills with all level of employees
  • Must have good customer service skills, with a helping attitude
  • Must be detail-oriented and safety minded
  • Must have excellent time management and deadline-oriented mindset
  • Preferably 1-2 years of experience as a Traffic Control Planner on projects of various size and complexity
  • Preferably be experience with Microsoft Office and graphic design software’s/applications
  • Preferably have 1 year of Graphic design
