Responsibilities

The Senior Vice President of Operations (SVPO) will oversee the operational, financial, and managerial aspects of multiple designated markets within the Emerus organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving growth in volume and EBITDA.
  • Preparing short-term and long-range plans and budgets aligned with corporate goals and growth objectives.
  • Reviewing analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecasts to assess market progress towards established goals.
  • Managing regional market executives and directing market activities to implement organizational policies.
  • Ensuring operations meet budgeted profit results and adhere to financial benchmarking standards.
  • Developing and enforcing procedures and controls to enhance communication and information flow.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing business operations.
  • Leading efforts to maintain DNV, state licenses, and other accreditation requirements.
  • Regular interaction with medical staff to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Providing strong oversight of P&L and driving operational excellence across designated markets.
  • Establishing a solid infrastructure for strategic planning for each market/facility.
  • Collaborating with Market CEOs to balance local market priorities with broader organizational goals.
  • Ensuring each Market CEO/Hospital Administrator prepares and executes an annual business plan.
  • Monitoring activities aimed at increasing volume from EMS, urgent care, and physician practices.
  • Leading new service line development and implementation initiatives.
  • Formulating growth strategies with the development team to identify new facility opportunities or acquisition targets.
  • Identifying and training new talent while ensuring succession plans are in place for key roles.
  • Acting as a mentor to enhance business acumen and P&L capabilities among key market staff.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, patient experience, and quality.
  • Participating in quarterly partnership and subsidiary board meetings.
  • Serving as a board member for joint ventures as designated.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with health system partners through regular communication.
  • Encouraging commitment to a shared vision and values across the organization.
  • Thriving in a lean environment and creating opportunities for staff development.
  • Promoting open communication throughout the organization.
