Role Overview

As job captain, you will be responsible for seeing design projects through to construction. The ideal candidate is organized, articulate and confident. You will take the lead to create, develop and maintain the Revit model from schematic design through construction documentation and construction administration. The job captain will direct internal staff members, working closely with the designers and project managers, to bring the project vision to a reality. Key Job Functions
  • Lead construction documentation team efforts and be responsible for primary development of the Revit model and leading the team efforts to complete the document process under mentorship of a project manager.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project team, consultant team, other KTGY Studios and client.
  • Ability to review and apply building code requirements on all projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership on project goals, objectives and efiiciencies.
  • Identify, document and communicate changes in scope to project managers.
  • Review and coordinate your own work and provide document review for project team members for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform all construction phase services during construction administration, attend site meetings, review change orders and submittals and maintain CA logs.
  • Assist in educating and mentoring junior staff.
  • Contribute to Studio meetings, committees, and objectives.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work with others.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks.
  • Accurate and detail oriented.
  • Ability to research and learn and apply building code requirements and ordinances.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and maintain effective communication and quality control.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, direct work of self and others.
  • Advanced proficiency using the following software:
    • Revit
    • SketchUp
    • Adobe Suite
    • MS Office

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
  • 4-year Architectural degree preferred and/or combination of required education and experience. Masters of Architecture encouraged.
  • Understanding of national building codes.
  • Experience in multi-family or mixed-use projects or similar.
