About the Job:

Peak Energy is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Cell Validation Engineer support all cell test and validation efforts. The Cell Validation Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our energy storage cells through comprehensive validation processes and will work with Cell engineering, R&D, and ESS Engineering teams to develop, execute, and report out on cell level electrochemical and safety testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute cell validation plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and product specifications.
  • Design and implement testing protocols for energy storage cells, including electrical, thermal, safety, and mechanical tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define validation requirements based on product design and performance objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret validation test results, identifying any deviations from expected performance and working towards resolution.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to cell performance, collaborating with R&D and production teams for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of validation processes, test results, and any modifications made during the validation phase.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of test equipment and fixtures for efficient and accurate validation testing.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and relevant standards to contribute to the continuous improvement of validation processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cell validation within the energy storage or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of battery technologies, cell chemistries, and related testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment and software for data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy storage systems.
