Position Description

The successful candidate is a key member of the Lumbee Holdings Business Development Team leading the solution development and proposal writing support for new business opportunity pursuits. You will work closely with capture and proposal managers, technical experts, business leaders, and customers to craft compelling solutions to achieve the customer’s vision and objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading discovery activities to identify and fully understand customer needs and challenges
  • Develop and design scalable, high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and align with the company’s technology strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Authoring white papers, solution graphics, charts, and other artifacts to support shaping activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business and technical requirements. Validating proposed solutions for feasibility, compliance, and quality
  • Work closely with project managers, developers, and other architects to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Leading creation and writing of technical and management sections of proposals and RFI responses

Proposal and Technical Writing Support:

  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical teams to gather information and insights for proposal development.
  • Write, edit, and review proposal content, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with DoD requirements.
  • Craft compelling executive summaries, technical narratives, and solution descriptions that resonate with evaluators.
  • Develop graphics, charts, and visual aids to enhance proposal sections (e.g., process flows, diagrams, and infographics).
  • Coordinate with graphic artists and designers to create visually appealing proposal layouts.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to verify compliance with solicitation instructions and evaluation criteria.
  • Address feedback from reviewers and incorporate necessary revisions.
  • Maintain a repository of reusable proposal content, templates, and boilerplate language.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance proposal content.
  • In addition to proposals, contribute to technical documentation, white papers, and case studies.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to create user manuals, system specifications, and process documentation.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guides in all technical writing.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in solutions architecture or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Travel is anticipated to be 25% - 30% within the Continental United States.
