Position Purpose & Summary

A Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) provides holistic healthcare services aimed at promoting optimal health and well-being. Utilizing natural and integrative therapies, NDs diagnose, treat, and prevent illness by addressing the root causes of disease. They focus on patient education, lifestyle modification, and the use of natural remedies, including nutrition, herbal medicine, and other non-invasive treatments.

Applicants will be working at our new state-of-the-art integrative holistic medical clinic located in northern Colorado Springs, near the Interquest Parkway.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed health histories and physical examinations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include dietary recommendations, lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, nutritional supplements, and physical therapies.
  • Educate and empower patients to take an active role in their health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive and integrative approach to patient care.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with developments in naturopathic medicine and participate in continuing education.
  • Evaluate patient health through consultations, diagnostic tests, and physical exams.
  • Create and implement personalized, natural treatment plans.
  • Monitor and adjust treatments based on patient progress and outcomes.
  • Provide education on health promotion, disease prevention, and natural therapies.
  • Encourage patients to adopt healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and regulations governing naturopathic medicine.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and standards.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of diplomacy and team involvement.
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter. Tact, empathy, and self-discipline are traits required.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills. Needs to excel in problem solving and be analytical and detail orientated.
  • Must be able to understand medical, and wellness related terminology including the various treatment modalities, equipment, and products.
  • Must effectively manage HIPAA and related compliance regulations.
  • Adhering to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Always represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attending regular staff meetings and in-service meetings.

Position Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Naturopathy from an accredited naturopathic medical school.
  • Valid license to practice naturopathic medicine in Colorado.
  • Strong knowledge of natural and integrative health practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to holistic and patient-centered care.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understands health and wellness trends.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, patients, members, and guests.
