Naturopathic Physician

Position Purpose & Summary

A Naturopathic Physician (ND) offers comprehensive holistic healthcare services designed to enhance overall health and wellness. By employing natural and integrative therapies, NDs are responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing illnesses by focusing on the underlying causes of health issues. Their approach emphasizes patient education, lifestyle changes, and the use of natural remedies, including nutrition, herbal treatments, and other non-invasive methods.

The successful candidate will be part of a modern integrative holistic medical clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient evaluations, including comprehensive health histories and physical assessments.
• Create tailored treatment strategies that may involve dietary advice, lifestyle coaching, herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, and physical therapies.
• Empower patients to take an active role in their health and wellness journey.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a well-rounded and integrative approach to patient care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed about advancements in naturopathic medicine and engage in ongoing education.
• Assess patient health through consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and physical examinations.
• Design and implement customized, natural treatment protocols.
• Monitor and modify treatments based on patient progress and outcomes.
• Provide guidance on health promotion, disease prevention, and natural therapies.
• Encourage patients to embrace healthy lifestyle choices.
• Work alongside other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress accurately.
• Engage in continuous professional development and learning.
• Adhere to ethical standards and regulations governing naturopathic practice.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and standards.

• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code standards.

• Complete annual educational requirements.
• Wear identification while on duty.
• Represent the organization positively and professionally at all times.
• Comply with all organizational policies and ethical business practices.
• Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.
• Attend regular staff and in-service meetings.

Position Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Naturopathy from an accredited institution.
• Valid license to practice naturopathic medicine.
• In-depth knowledge of natural and integrative health practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to holistic and patient-centered care.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Awareness of health and wellness trends.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and patients.
