At Addison Group, we are thrilled to be partnering with a leading distribution company located in Golden Valley, MN to find a highly skilled Billing/AP Specialist. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth handling of financial operations, specifically in managing additional service charges, processing invoices, and supporting the Operations team. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Operations team and customers to oversee and manage any extra charges that may come up after the initial service request, ensuring they are accurately documented and processed.
- Prepare daily reports on outstanding items and monitor shared communication channels to promptly address and resolve any discrepancies or issues with customers.
- Process invoices from transportation or shipping carriers, ensuring they are verified, recorded, and paid on time.
- Assist with office payables by handling invoice processing and ensuring timely payments.
- Act as a backup for team members, providing support on ad-hoc projects and participating in cross-training to enhance team effectiveness.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of the entire process related to extra charges, from identification to successful collection.
- Strong ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work confidently with numerical data.
- Proficient in Excel, with the ability to extract, combine, and interpret data.
- Excellent customer service skills, with strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to anticipate and adapt to changing needs.
- Competent in the use of various computer applications and software.
Experience:
- 2+ years in an accounting-focused role (AP/AR)
- Proficient in Excel, including navigation of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- A solid grasp of accounting principles, with the ability to clearly explain debits and credits.
- Strong decision-making skills with the confidence to assertively manage challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
