The Medical Assistant should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate a highly optimized and specialized environment where priorities may shift daily while working autonomously, taking initiative, make recommendations on who is medically fit for a continued stay at the Residential Treatment Facility, call for emergency assistance/transportation for residents who show signs of distress and complete tasks you are responsible for. You will have a deep background in reporting standards and norms, compliance, strong written and verbal communication, and a deep understanding of the medical/detox landscape. You will also evaluate current detox and residential clients and monitor the clients for any potential medical problems that would preclude a safe stay at the facility and observe residents in the facility to monitor their health.

Key Qualifications

  • Proficiency meeting aggressive timely completion of all documentations including, but not limited to, taking/recording vitals, Administers withdrawal assessments (CIWA & COWS) and records results in progress notes, etc...
  • Passionate and self-motivated, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment demonstrating positive demeanor regardless of changing work conditions
  • Meticulous attention to detail & strong ability to retain and contextualize SUD information/history
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the pharmacology and physiological effects of alcohol and other commonly abused substances

Pay & Benefits


At Janus, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $23.00 and $29.00 per hour and your base pay will be considered on your job-related skills, training, qualifications, experience, and relevant education.

Requirements:
  • Medical Office Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • EMR Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital Signs Experience: 1 year (Required)
  • CCMA (California Certified Medical Assistant) administered by the CCBMA (California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants), AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), or higher certification in the nursing field. Also accepted are EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification, AEMT (Advanced Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic certification, with at least one year of experience in a role conducting vitals and preliminary medical assessments preferred.
