Job Title: Dock Attendant

Reports To: Marina General Manager

Summary: HarborWalk Marina offers waterfront shopping, boat, pontoon and jet ski rentals, world class fishing, aqua adventures, dolphin cruises, clubs and nightlife, weekly fireworks, seasonal festivals, live entertainment, and a variety of restaurants.

The Dock Attendant will successfully complete all tasks related to the smooth operation of the Marina as instructed to promote an overall ‘Legendary’ image. This role contributes to the customer’s delight and satisfaction by enhancing the appearance of every area of the docks.

Part and Full-time positions available. Hourly pay plus tips

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets and serves all Marina customers quickly providing excellent customer service.
  • Provides efficient service with ice, fuel, bait, and other sundries as requested.
  • Operates fuel pumps and follows all processes concerning payment.
  • Follows all safety and compliance regulations, with daily inspections to ensure safe conditions.
  • Keeps the docks and customer areas clean and organized.
  • Professionally maintains and cleans equipment, docks, and bait areas as instructed by management.
  • Reports any damage to vessels and docks to management in a timely manner.
  • Exhibits a positive and energetic appearance in the workplace that contributes to the Marina’s objectives.
  • Demonstrates attentiveness when customers are around the dock, assisting as needed.
  • Operate cash register
  • Assist customers with retail hanging/ high-shelved retail items
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

  • Able to promote team attitude and support other team members and departments so that the customers have a seamless experience while at the Marina.
  • Efficiently provides excellent customer service.
  • Previous knowledge of boats, watersports, marina operations a plus.
  • Previous cash register experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in customer service preferred.

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Qualifications

Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employee may be asked to work longer days, on the weekends, and over holidays.

License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.

Rules and Regulations All employees must adhere to all safety rules and regulations required by local, State and Federal authorities, wear the appropriate personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe manner and will follow all safety rules per the Company’s Safety Policy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time frequently; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift 5-25 pounds regularly and over 25 with assistance, as needed, as part of the daily responsibilities.

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work outside in the heat and the possibility of inclement weather. This role is highly physical in nature, carrying supplies throughout the course of the workday.
