The Product Development Assistant supports the team in the execution of the apparel manufacturing lifestyle to include the development of samples for proprietary, seasonal clothing collections, the creation and documentation of garment samples, and fulfillment of office administrative duties.

Essential Functions Include:
Handling the shipping of samples/references/etc.

Prepping samples and photo samples (tag, check for accuracy, call out notes) and maintaining sample and drop archives.

Preparing send outs to other vendors that may include processes, techniques, and applications, which can't be handled in studio.

Proofing and correcting pattern cards, tech packs, and sew by samples before the production hand off occurs.

Updating line sheets as revisions occur including flat sketches, text data, fabrics, colors, etc.

Creating historical swatch cards for each season.

Photographing samples and sharing them with the design team as complete for comments and approvals.

Photographing all photo samples and filing them in the appropriate location.

Assisting with the assortment plan maintenance to include attributes, revisions, drops, and adds.

Creating Purchase Orders and coordinating with contractors to ensure the pickup and drop off is fulfilled. Ensuring accuracy of orders (sample making, crushing, wash, etc.).

Coordinating meetings to include prepping the studio, buying needed supplies, printing required documents, and assisting with ordering and picking up lunches.

Receiving shipments and distributing them.

Occasional traveling to and from contractor sites and sourcing and picking up sample trim locally.

Greeting all studio visitors.

Maintaining supply inventory levels and ordering supplies.


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

At minimum a high school diploma with an internship and/or experience in a similar role in the apparel industry is required. An associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.

Highly experienced in Microsoft Excel is required.

Upper intermediate knowledge level of Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator CAD experience.

Requires a valid driver's license and means of transportation.
