Eastridge Workforce Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a BIM/Pre-Planning Designer. The ideal candidate will work within the BIM/Pre-Planning Department as a BIM/Pre-Planning Designer creating drawing and coordinating the Pre-Planning of large projects. This opportunity is for an office position in our client's Vista, CA Location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Coordinate the Pre-Planning of large projects.
  • Creating shop drawings from field foreman mark-up drawings. At job closeout, creating record drawings based on field foreman red lined drawings. Packaging shop and red line drawings for closeout document submittal.
  • Create dimension drawings for field use and submittal. This includes, electric room layout, site underground layout, slab on grade, device locations, block box locations and elevations, overhead rack, light fixture locations, etc.
  • For projects coordinated in 3D, Draw and elevate all light fixtures in 3D based on light fixture submittal information. Annotate all drawings for submittal and installation.
  • Receive and download coordination files and manage file folders.
  • Assist with the creation of prefab drawings, material take-offs, and coordination meetings.
  • Create 3D models of field installations for BIM coordination. Participate and/or lead in the 3D BIM coordination process.
  • Participation in the development and maintenance of BIM processes including Revit, NavisWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Develop drawings and files for Total Station coordination and layout.
  • Create and set-up working CAD files for projects. This includes the set-up of all background files to be drawn on. Creating plot sheets and title blocks for all shop drawings.
  • Set up job folders with Working and received files: Download, filter and sort files from GC, architects and/or engineers.
  • Coordinate with the area superintendents to keep the field informed of the latest materials and methods in our industry.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7 years drawing 3D electrical systems in AutoCAD MEP, CAD-ELEC, or similar programs
  • Minimum 7 years in the use of Navisworks Manage
  • Minimum 5 year MEP coordination / BIM process
  • Experience with Revit MEP, NavisWorks, and AutoCAD
  • Bachelor's Degree in Drafting Technology – AutoCAD, preferred
  • Electrical Construction experience required.
  • Completion of vocational training in construction-based CAD is required
  • Must have experience in 3D models of field installations for BIM coordination.
  • Must Participate and/or lead in the 3D BIM coordination process.

  • Able to adjust priorities on short notice, manage interruptions and work well under pressure.

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and efficiently operate computer.
  • Working conditions consist of a temperature-controlled, shared office; noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
