About the Role:


Empower, Connect, and Make a Difference As a Mental Health Therapist, you'll be pivotal in offering empathetic and professional assessment services, primarily focusing on Child Welfare Service families with children aged 0-18 affected by domestic violence. You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative environment, ensuring that your voice and expertise lead the way in delivering exceptional care.



Responsibilities:


Conduct thorough and culturally competent trauma-informed assessments for families referred by Child Welfare Services and other community agencies.


Carry out evaluations in-person and through occasional virtual sessions, both in-office and within the community, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each family's unique situation.


Assess all family members within the home, focusing on areas such as domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, trauma, and other significant factors.


Develop and present clear recommendations based on your findings, aiming to prevent trauma exposure for children and address issues impacting the safety and well-being of parents/caregivers.


Remain culturally sensitive and maintain the highest level of respect in all interactions with clients and staff.



Requirements:


BBS registration (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) by the California Board of Behavioral Science.


Proficiency in family systems theory, such as Structural Family Therapy, and the ability to apply diagnostic criteria effectively.


Strong skills in interviewing, rapport building, and assessment, ensuring a thorough and compassionate approach to each case.


Certification in Domestic Violence Assessment and Treatment, provided upon employment.


Capacity to make sound clinical decisions independently and apply clinical judgment in developing effective treatment recommendations.


Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work productively and efficiently.


Additional Requirements:


Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, coupled with a satisfactory driving record.



Schedule/Compensation:


Full-Time, non-exempt position, 40 hours a week, including evenings.


Hybrid job - 2 days WFH, 3 days in the field.


$30 to $32.80 per hour for BBS-registered associates, plus an additional $0.58 per hour for bilingual (Spanish) skills. EEO.
