Our team at Momentum Spine and Joint is looking for a full-time bilingual Medical Assistant in Denton, TX to provide direct patient care in the outpatient clinical setting. The Medical Assistant will additionally support a positive patient experience by performing administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician or nurse manager and will assist the physician in scribing patient notes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains patient charts and ensures completeness and accuracy of patients' forms.
- Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for
visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other information as required by clinic. - Communicates and documents any status updates and changes regarding patient and treatment plan.
- Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
- Provides administrative support and performs routine clerical such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked with adequate medical supplies as well as cleaning rooms
appropriately between patients. - Maintains and responds to e-mails, telephone calls and inquiries.
- Takes telephone messages and provides feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Assists team and uses downtime efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and
records, and other office procedures and terminology
• Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
• Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures
• Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
• Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
• Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years in medical office setting
