Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care in the outpatient clinical setting, supporting a positive patient experience by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician or nurse manager. This role will also involve assisting the physician in scribing patient notes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain patient charts and ensure completeness and accuracy of patients' forms.
- Room patients consistently, determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history, and other required information.
- Communicate and document any status updates and changes regarding patient and treatment plans.
- Keep patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
- Provide administrative support and perform routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Ensure exam rooms are prepared and stocked with adequate medical supplies, and clean rooms appropriately between patients.
- Maintain and respond to emails, telephone calls, and inquiries.
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Assist the team and use downtime efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting
- Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish
