Medical Scheduler Job Description

We are seeking a full-time, bilingual Medical Scheduler to join our new clinic in Denton, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking-out patients and understanding their needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures accordingly and promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with all appropriate parties regarding patient and procedure information
  • Follow-up and ensure all documentation is obtained
  • Verify if all authorizations have been obtained prior to scheduling procedures
  • Schedule and/or reschedule patient follow-ups and procedures
  • Coordinate transportation for procedure patients, if needed
  • Inform and provide patients with necessary information and instructions prior to procedure date
  • Follow-up on all Canceled or No-Show Patients
  • Check-out patients
  • Send prescriptions to pharmacy via fax or e-mail
  • Move patients through appointments as scheduled
  • Answer telephone and deal with inquiries
  • Update patients' information into database
  • Able to travel between various locations if needed
  • Flexible scheduling may be required to meet company needs

Requirements:

  • High School diploma; some college preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years in medical office scheduling setting
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and eCW
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish
