Consultant for The Robotics Factory Create Program
Roles and Responsibilities
This role supports Innovation Works’ Robotics Factory Create program, which has a limited time-frame for a defense-related applications project. This project is part of the Build Back Better grant through the U.S. Economic Development Agency. Specifically, you will assist and help drive the Robotics Factory Create Defense program.
CREATE
- Devise a plan to identify industry sector contacts.
- Reach out to industry leaders through calls, emails, visits, exhibitions, and shows.
- Convene calls and meetings to identify industry problems and challenges.
- Assist in the selection process of problems appropriate to the robotics industry in Western PA.
- Work closely with subcontractors on the planning and execution of workshops, meetings, and summits to identify core problems that are tractable and have realistic solutions not requiring substantial R&D efforts.
- Gather industry problems and select those related to robotics solutions.
- Architect and formulate concrete plans for business creation or other results leading to improved business for regional companies.
- Facilitate partnerships and create ventures to achieve the same goals.
Qualifications
- B.S. or more advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Robotics.
- Strong experience and knowledge of the robotics field to have fluent conversations with industry professionals.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in building organizations in a technical area.
- Significant experience (10+ years) in building technology and technology teams.
- Experience with diverse customers in industry and government to facilitate relationship building.
- Significant experience at the nexus of technical and business challenges, combining intense efforts and thought with growing an organization.
- Knowledge of technology integration and system building where they intersect with business problems.
- Experience in building organizations and working with other teams towards a common goal.
- Fluent and extensive experience (10+ years) working with military agencies and organizations, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
- Experience in the public-private sector, working across disciplines at the intersection of business and technology.
