We are looking to add a Mechanic Apprentice to our Omaha location Pay starts at $18-$22 per hour. Work with our incredible maintenance team and learn from the best technicians in the industry, while working on some of the latest and most pristine equipment on the road

Paid on the job training and tools provided

 

Duties: 

  • Maintaining bus and coach fleets for our Great Plains facilitates. 90% of work located in Omaha with travel 10% to Lincoln, Norfolk, and Des Moines, IA, once trained.. 
  • Ensuring the company has the safest of coaches placed in service, and they are free of mechanical defects with all installed equipment in working order.
  • Conducting diagnostic, repair, and routine service of our fleet.
  • Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
  • Repairing and maintaining parts of an engine, such as fuel injection systems.
  • Repairing electrical systems.
  • Changing tires on buses and support vehicles.
  • Repairing gas/diesel engines and A.C. systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Recommended Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record. 
  • Knowledge of basic computer function capabilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug testing, background check and back screening.
  • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively under time and budgetary pressures.
  • Ability to utilize the time available to organize and complete work within given deadlines. 
  • Must be reliable, show up and work when scheduled, and be punctual.

 

Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
