Summary
The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment related to all production machinery and will require skills to diagnose and repair problems and breakdowns, including preventative maintenance and inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues related to production machinery.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance, safety inspections, routine upgrades, and maintenance as instructed.  
  • Recognizing and performing machine adjustments to the various manufacturing machine systems.
  • Offer technical/ mechanical suggestions to improve efficiency, reusability, and extended life of equipment.
  • Continuously work with departments to evaluate and improve technical solutions and strategies.
  • Document and communicate maintenance/repair actions as well as irregularities.
  • Test equipment to confirm machines will meet production and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and established regulations.
  • Guide production staff in routine preventive maintenance techniques as directed.
  • Maintain, monitor, and control spare parts inventory.
  • Complies with all safety guidelines.
  • Must be a leader in safety and be a safe worker who demonstrates concern for personal safety and safety of others.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Willingness to train and improve knowledge and skills.
  • Willingness to be on call during weekend operations.
Education and/or Experience
  • Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or five years related mechanical and electrical experience. 
  • Tradesman experience a plus
  • Licensed electrician a plus
  • PLC certification a plus
  • Minimum 5 years hands on machine diagnostics, parts replacement, and testing
  • Ability to lift 50- 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, organized, and positive warehouse environment
  • Ability to work on 6’ – 10’ ladders and 20’ Scissor/Boom lift
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced production environment

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to sit.  He/she will regularly walk, talk and listen, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders and he/she will frequently stand, use hands to finger, handle, or touch, use foot/feet to operate machine and move from place to place.  Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
During the performance of his/her work duties regularly lift to 50 pounds and may be asked to lift up to 75 pounds.
