THE ROLE: The Director of Production will oversee all aspects of the production process, ensuring that our collections are produced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strategic leader with deep knowledge of apparel manufacturing, supply chain management, and production planning. The Director of Production will work closely with design, sourcing, and quality control teams to deliver products that align with our brand’s vision and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production plans that align with the company's product release schedules and ensure timely delivery of collections.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international manufacturers, ensuring they meet the company's quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
- Oversee quality control processes throughout the production cycle, ensuring all products meet the brand’s quality standards.
- Manage production budgets, negotiate pricing with suppliers, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Continuously evaluate and improve production processes, implementing best practices to increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize waste.
- Lead and mentor the production team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
- Ensure all production practices comply with industry regulations, including labor laws and environmental standards.
- Drive initiatives to incorporate sustainable practices into the production process, supporting the company’s commitment to responsible fashion.
- Address and resolve any production issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the production schedule.
- Work closely with design, sourcing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration of production processes with other business functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in production management within the fashion or apparel industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end production processes for a fashion brand.
- Strong knowledge of global apparel manufacturing, sourcing strategies, and supply chain management.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing production budgets and controlling costs without sacrificing quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools (e.g., PLM systems).
- Commitment to sustainability and ethical production practices.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Please note the salary range for this full-time, exempt role is $140-150k.
