Metro PT has an immediate opening for a full-time Desktop Support Technician who is interested in working for a growing, dynamic healthcare company. They will work cross-functionally and will be responsible for building and maintaining desktop systems and supporting system software. This will include Mac and Windows PC/laptops, printers, and mobile devices. The ideal candidate will be a positive and supportive member of the IT function, a self-starter, is technically innovative and loves the challenge of solving problems and building solutions to help the company scale.


This person has a “get stuff done”, customer service focused mindset. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual with high energy, someone who thrives in a tight-knit and fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role with room for growth This position will be based out of our HQ in Garden City, NY, with 40-50% travel required.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides technical support for workstations, laptops, printers, computer peripherals, mobile devices, corporate applications, and more, including both Windows and Mac Operating Systems and Google platform troubleshooting.
  • Ability to solve technical and system issues with little to no supervision.
  • First level support that requires response to end-user support technology requests via email, phone, and walk-ups.
  • Complete assigned requests and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and support hardware and software throughout the organization.
  • Set up new users with phones, desks, computers, & monitors.
  • Will provide technical support for meetings, events, and presentations as needed.
  • Manage printers, docking stations & conference room connectivity.
  • Follow IT Asset Management procedures for the tracking, transporting, receiving, and disposing of company technology assets.
  • Continually monitors and suggests improvement in processes and procedures.
  • Travel between clinics (local & non-local) required.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Min. 3 years of desktop end-user hardware support experience. Bonus points for experience within a healthcare organization
  • Ability to solve technical and system issues with little to no supervision.
  • A team player who brings positive energy and experience to a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows 10, Mac OS, and iOS platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Google platform is a must.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities for project time management with little supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels (i.e., Executives and High-Touch Specialty Departments)
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve customer computer related issues.
  • Self-motivated individual with desire to enhance their knowledge and continually develop their skillset.
  • Understanding of current technologies and best practices in the information technology industry.
  • Solution driven
  • Project Management experience is a huge plus.
  • Must possess a valid and clean NY driver’s license.
