JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the CEO the Resource Development Director (RDD) provides professional expertise and support to Clubs who are a part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region (BGCCR). The RDD works with member parties to develop resource development goals and plans to meet the Club's financial goals and objectives. The RDD is accountable for developing and implementing strategies and leading the fund development team to achieve the goals in keeping with established ethical standards, policies, and guidelines.
The Resource Development Director is responsible for managing the BGCCR's member Clubs by helping them to develop and implement an annual Resource Development plan, coordinate fundraising campaigns, and identifying potential sources of funds (including individuals, foundations, corporations, government, annual giving, capital campaign, planned giving, special events and United Way and other agency supports).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Ensures that the community support goals for all supported communities are met.
2. Provides professional expertise and direction in all aspects of fundraising/development to the fund development staff and staff support.
3. Works in partnership with the CEO and the senior leadership team to shape the BGCCR's community support strategies. Plays a key management and administrative role in the execution of the annual plan of work. Provides support to resource development committees of the BGCCR and supported communities.
4. Represents the BGCCR and the CEO, as needed, to both internal and external audiences.
5. Establishes and implements fund development policies, procedures, plans, and goals.
6. Develops and manages the budget for fund development. Leads efforts to ensure that best practices are utilized and that resources are leveraged and deployed in the most effective way to accomplish the Boys & Girls Clubs fund development goals.
7. Works closely with the public relations/communications area to develop marketing strategies to promote the Boys& Girls Club image for donor cultivation.
8. Work with member Clubs to aggressively seek new funding sources and maintain relationships with current and past donors.
9. Establishes and strengthens presence in the community to increase the Boys & Girls Clubs visibility as a funding source for potential and current or past donors.
10. Responsible for the grant writing and reporting process.
11. Plans, manages and implements fundraising events.
12. Ensures that the donor database of the BGCCR is up-to-date and well-managed.
13. Collaborates with Clubs and BGCA staff to identify untapped markets of interest and to generate ideas, programs, and concepts to engage potential donors.
14. Manages the effective development and retention of high-performing fund development staff and ensures they are equipped to help the Clubs meet their fund development goals.
15. Ensures that diversity and pluralism are embraced and incorporated into the work of the council.

5. Ensures that materials prepared and produced for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region internal and external audiences reflect the highest standards of excellence.
6. Demonstrates sound time-management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.
7. Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
8. Attends and facilitates administrative, member Clubs, department, and team meetings as needed.
9. Continually seeks and accepts opportunities for personal and professional growth.
10. Other duties as assigned.

· Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of the cycle of employee development and accountability.
· Interest in and appreciation of team approach to management; knowledge of team-building value and options. Experience motivating and supervising volunteer staff.
· Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, valid auto insurance, acceptable driving record, and access to a vehicle on a daily basis.
• Acceptable criminal background history.
· Willingness to work varied hours, including some nights and weekends.
· Willingness to become a member of one or more civic organizations.
· Proficiency in MS Office Software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's Degree in a related field required or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred. Proven track record in receiving and managing multiple grants, and annual giving campaigns.
PHYSICAL and MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be detail-oriented, have good analytical abilities, high energy level, and be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, while displaying tact, maturity, and flexibility.
