Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes, and electrical systems. This role involves interpreting specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings to perform tasks using various tools and instruments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and machinery parts using appropriate tools and materials.
- Install and repair electrical components and wiring systems within machinery and equipment.
- Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform installation of machinery and equipment as per blueprints and specifications.
- Diagnose and repair facility machinery including engines, conveyor systems, and production equipment.
- Dismantle defective machinery and install new or repaired parts with precision.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through established communication channels.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
- Assist in performing welding repairs.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations and maintain excellent housekeeping practices.
- Perform other assigned essential functions as required.
Job Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Training and Experience: 4 to 10 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
Special Skills:
- Proficiency in machinery repair, electrical installations, and pipe system maintenance.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Major Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach, bend, and use arms and hands for extended periods.
- Visual precision required for inspecting parts and reading documents and instruments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds repetitively during the work shift.
Working Conditions:
In a typical plant environment, the role involves exposure to high noise levels, physical hazards from moving equipment, fumes, dust, mist, and skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
