JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary
Regal Boats is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Supply Chain Industrial Engineer. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for the process design, operation, and implementation across both warehouse and supply chain functions. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of their projects to improve industrial and supply chain processes, maintain efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze current warehouse and supply chain processes; design and implement more efficient production lines, workstations, and inventory management systems.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, and procurement, to identify inefficiencies or defects and develop solutions to address them.
  3. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, cost savings, and supply chain improvements.
  4. Design, redesign, or enhance work areas and layouts to reduce or eliminate awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations.
  5. Conduct time studies, work sampling, and process analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in both production and supply chain workflows.
  6. Collaborate with suppliers to enhance the quality and efficiency of raw materials and components, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Monitor and manage inventory levels, working closely with the supply chain team to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and improve turnover rates.
  8. Develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, including vendor performance analysis and logistics optimization.
  9. Provide training and support to production and supply chain teams to ensure understanding and adherence to new processes and procedures.
  10. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality in both warehouse and supply chain processes.
  11. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the impact of process improvements and supply chain enhancements.
  12. Manage and implement changes directly when required (e.g., painting lines, hanging tags, building fixtures).
  13. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in continuous improvement, quality management, and supply chain management, and incorporate them into the organization's practices and processes.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or five years of proven experience as an Industrial Engineer in lieu of a degree.
  2. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  4. Proven experience implementing and managing solo-led projects.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  6. Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.
  7. At least 1 year of engineering experience in a warehouse environment.
  8. CAD or AutoCAD skills.
  9. Conversational English.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) or similar discipline.
  2. At least one year of experience in the boat manufacturing/warehouse industry.
  3. Familiar with utilizing PDCA Continuous Improvement model.
  4. Familiarity with Rhino CAD software.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
