Job Title: Quality Technician – Buildings Construction
Location: Brownsville, Texas

The Quality Technician will support the quality assurance efforts on a multi-building construction site in Brownsville, Texas, ensuring adherence to established quality standards. Prior to mobilization in Brownsville during 4Q24, the Quality Technician will work in the Houston office to assist with the preparation of documentation and procedures. This role involves following and executing consistent processes to assess and maintain quality controls, standards, and protocols.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of documentation and control procedures and distributing reports for project documentation. The role requires participation in the plan review process and ensuring compliance with project code and user requirements. Strong attention to detail, sound independent judgment, and the ability to resolve QA/QC issues in the construction environment are essential for this position.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Review project timelines set by superintendents and managers.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements in construction quality.
  • Conduct audits on ongoing projects, documenting findings, and distributing reports.
  • Document and track deficiencies within projects.
  • Attend meetings to review projects for QA/QC concerns.
  • Assist with training sessions related to QA/QC programs.
  • Organize updates to the QA/QC program as needed.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address quality issues.
  • Monitor project quality program execution and compliance with standards.
  • Assist with evaluating quality-related project activities.
  • Assist in reviewing and documenting nonconforming conditions and corrective actions.
  • Support reporting on project quality procedures and manuals to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with project personnel on implementing quality requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining communication with client quality personnel.

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction quality assurance or quality control.
  • Experience in QA/QC processes related to commercial/industrial buildings, including compliance assessments and quality control measures.
  • Familiarity with construction industry quality standards and building codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document and report on QA/QC activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Experience with Procore or similar project management software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.
  • Auditor/lead auditor training and qualification.
  • Root cause analysis training.
