Amida is looking for a Director of Testing to join our team in Washington, DC (hybrid) or a remote location.

What You Will Do:
Oversees and manages all aspects of testing within Amida. Their responsibilities include managing readiness reviews, flight tests, certification, reporting, and contract compliance. They also develop standards and processes for their department and organization to meet ISO9001 and CMM requirements. Manage product line simplification programs, conduct failure analysis and produce final test reports. They also handle verification testing phases for multiple releases of products, oversee cost reduction initiatives, and manage testing activities for various projects. Testing directors also develop software testing tools and processes, establish performance metrics for test program execution, and ensure quality and safety standards compliance.

As the Testing Center of Excellence (CoE) and Transformation Lead, you will establish and lead the Testing CoE, drive innovation, and transform testing practices across the organization. This role involves defining testing strategies, implementing best practices, and overseeing the end-to-end testing lifecycle. The Testing CoE Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing efficiency, quality, and agility while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing the Testing Center of Excellence's vision, mission, and goals
  • Define the organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities within the CoE
    Formulate comprehensive testing strategies aligned with business objectives and industry best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies and frameworks Lead efforts to transform testing processes, incorporating industry trends, automation, and emerging technologies
  • Introduce innovative testing practices to improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, project managers, development teams, and business units to ensure testing requirements are well-understood and integrated into project plans
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the testing community
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to testing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Recruit, train, and develop testing professionals within the CoE
  • Define and enforce quality assurance standards, processes, and methodologies
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Drive the adoption of test automation and testing tools to improve efficiency and coverage
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate testing tools based on project requirements
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for testing processes and provide regular reports to management
  • Use metrics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in testing
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning within the testing teams
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to testing activities
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to address and resolve testing-related issues
  • Experience in RPA testing, AI, ML and NLP algorithms testing for effectiveness
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of manual and automated testers

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience quality assurance leadership and a deep understanding of QA methodologies, with a proven track record
  • 8+ years of QA experience in both automated software testing and manual testing
  • Proven expertise in QA leadership roles, with a track record of successfully
    implementing QA strategies, performance management, and professional development
  • Experience with large enterprise or e-business systems
  • Experience operating within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with
    cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Linux environment and command-line operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and configure test environments
  • Blackbox Testing, UAT, Functional Testing, and Performance Testing
  • Automation scripts, experience in SQL coding and Gitlab
  • Source/revision control methodologies (i.e., SVN/GIT)
  • Troubleshooting/Bug fixing and Root Cause Analysis
