Job Title: Production Specialist
Location (On-site, Remote, or Hybrid?): Calhoun, GA (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: Contract until 11/30/2024
Pay: $15 an hour

Specific Duties “C” Operator:

  • “C” Operators have successfully completed a 6-month training period ·
  • Follows written instructions and standard operating procedures to manufacture quality adhesive products.
  • Works collaboratively with adhesive operators to insure a quality product is produced.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as required.
  • Perform in-plant laboratory testing to satisfy intermediate and finished product requirements.
  • Responsible for accurate batch sheet administration and retain sample collection.
  • Follow proper procedures for the handling, storage and transfer of waste.
  • Loads and mixes products per Process Master.
  • Off loads and packages products per Package Master.
  • Produce product labels and bar codes
  • Operates fork truck and material handling equipment. Completes daily forklift inspection log.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environment at all times.
  • Maintains good Housekeeping practices.
  • Assist in all liquids and specialty areas as needed.

Additional “B” operator duties:

  • Proficient with all adhesive equipment and is able to work with minimum Supervision
  • Perform in-plant laboratory testing to satisfy intermediate and finished product requirements.
  • Demonstrates the capability to make batch process adjustments based on in-process test results.
  • Fills out maintenance work requests in the event of mechanical problems.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot process equipment.
  • Provides leadership and training to C operators
  • Perform cycle counts of raw materials.
  • Works collaboratively with department leaders and employees to solve problems and to ensure a quality product is produced.
  • Coordinate manufacturing schedule and alert Senior/Lead Operator of scheduled modifications, and changes.
  • Support department manufacturing and processing operations as appropriate.
  • Insure manufacturing equipment is maintained and appropriate supplies are inventoried and relay the need for reordering.
  • Assist management in maintaining a positive working environment.
  • Establish personal goals to support Bostik’s manufacturing/quality mission.

Additional Duties “A” Operator:

  • Perform as a “B” Operator for approximately 6-12 months with above average Performance Reviews.
  • Provides leadership and training to C and B Operators on his/her shift.
  • Provides back-up coverage to Department Lead.
  • Assist the Lead in a leadership role to instill safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Act as the Lead’s back up, including batch sheets completion, and schedule completion.
  • Participate in monthly safety team meetings.

Lead Operator Additional Duties:

  • Has demonstrated above average leadership skills.
  • Provides leadership and training to senior operators within the entire Department.
  • Works collaboratively with Production Manager and employees to solve problems and insure a quality product is produced.
  • Coordinate manufacturing schedule and alerts Production Manager of schedule modifications, changes, and reasons.
  • Coordinate work orders, batch sheets, time cards, etc., daily/weekly.
  • Insure proper procedures are followed for the handling, storage and transfer of waste.
  • Conduct monthly safety team meetings as needed.
  • Participates in and oversees employee training and Performance Reviews.
  • Provides back-up coverage for Production Manager.

Requirements: (Education/Experience)

  • Prefer individual be familiar with batch manufacturing operations.
  • Must have a demonstrated record of reliability and safety awareness.
  • Prefer individual to have demonstrated sound decision making practices.
  • Must be committed to the concepts of in-plant intermediate testing and preventive maintenance.
  • Must be capable of fostering a positive working atmosphere through teamwork and cooperation.
