As a Staff Accountant at BHMG Engineers, you will an integral part of our finance team, supporting various accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will work closely with the Controller and other team members to perform day-to-day accounting tasks, reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


What Winning Looks Like:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices, customer invoices, and payments.
  • Assist with payroll processing, including reviewing timesheets, calculating payroll deductions, and processing payroll journal entries.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare accurate and timely invoices for clients based on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure all billable hours and expenses are properly documented and invoiced.
  • Address client inquiries regarding billing and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. Review billing backlog and coordinate communication with teams to resolve obstacles.
  • Assist in project audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Skills Needed to Win:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in an engineering or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Unanet UAE, SAP, Oracle or similar programs) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering or construction industry practices and terminology is a plus.
