Staff Accountant

We are seeking an experienced detail oriented Staff Accountant on behalf of our client As an Staff Accountant you will be responsible for the preparation of bank reconciliations, payroll, financial statements and sales tax returns for numerous clients.
Weekdays: Monday - Friday
Time: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
- Prepare monthly financial statements on QuickBooks Desktop Accountant system using client information
- Prepare bank reconciliations both manually and using QuickBooks Desktop Accountant system
- Prepare monthly/annual sales tax returns for numerous clients
- Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
- Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
- Prepare direct deposit and manual paychecks
- Calculate and make payroll tax deposits
- Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll tax reports and forms
Experience & Qualifications:
- 3+ years previous experience in accounting or other related fields
- 3+ years experience in financial statement preparation and payroll processing
- Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping
- Proficiency using QuickBooks Desktop Accountant, Pro, Enterprise, or equivalent desktop version is a must
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel is a must
- Advanced bookkeeping experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
