Job Title: Medical Billing Analyst 

Location: Columbia, SC 29203

Duration: 6 months Contract to hire 

Pay Range is $20- $24 Hr

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze proposed policies, procedures, forms, and reports to recommend operational improvements through standardization, simplification, or discontinuance.
  • Recommend and assist in the installation of new systems and procedures, providing updates on implementation progress to management.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and processes, making recommendations for improvement to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain written procedures within departmental and organizational standards, including documenting and streamlining automated procedures for end-user training.
  • Conduct workflow and process audits as needed, working with staff and managers to document errors, progress, and performance metrics.
  • Generate data, prepare reports, and maintain databases to analyze trends and ensure accuracy of reports through quality checks.
  • Maintain regular communication with management to provide updates on projects and issues, serving as a liaison between departments and internal/external groups.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate Degree with 2 years of project management, data analysis, or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis or related operations required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends or issues.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and present findings.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and ability to implement changes effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with DB2 or similar databases.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and business requirements.
  • Background in healthcare or insurance data analysis is advantageous.
