Job Description

The Ignition SCADA Developer will drive improvements to customer SCADA system, working independently or as part of a team, to ensure user experience excellence. Must be passionate about technology, SCADA development and contributing to the success of the team. Needs to work closely with customers to solve data-intensive challenges and deliver on multiple projects within various time periods. Cloud computing architect, design and development would be ideal in this candidate.

Job Responsibilities

• Engaged in all phases of the Ignition SCADA development lifecycle which include: gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages and creating application system models.
• Create standards for SCADA development that provides governance on how to scale across projects for rapid deployment
• Participate in design meetings and consult with internal customers to create, refine, test and debug programs to meet business needs
• Develop, test and implement new SCADA programs on-time
• Ensure the design and development of SCADA solutions properly fulfill all business requirements
• Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
• Design and update SCADA system to interface with such applications as: FlowCal, ProCount, WellView, AWS, etc
• Test, maintain and recommend SCADA improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization
• Specific programing skills needed are: Python, VB Script, Java, SQL, Scripts.
• Having experience in multiple SCADA system is preferred such as: WonderWare, GeoScada, Telvent, Cygnet, Ignition, Citect, etc.
• Having experience with following drivers and protocols are ideal: ABB total flow, Emerson ROC 800L, FB3000, AllenBradley, ScadaPak, modbus, opc, mqtt, and native protocols.
• Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing
• Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability and performance
• Resolve complex technical design issues
• Development of technical specifications and plans
• Make good technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges
• Provide comprehensive support to internal customers; achieve resolution to outstanding problems or issues
• Compile timely, comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as requested
• Possess up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
• Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers
• Multi-task and change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
