To support our growing operations, we have an immediate need for a talented and experienced Site Civil Assistant Superintendent to join our team for a major public works project (JFK- Terminal # 1) in Queens, New York. We are working together with Tishman Construction Corporation to deliver this project. It is anticipated that the selected candidate will work directly on site.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with coordinating and directing day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force; oversee quality of construction and workmanship.
  • Ensuring that all subcontractors are working with the latest drawings and specifications and that the work in- place meets the requirements of contract documents.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions, company requirements and mentoring others; communicate and enforce CM Safety and Health Management Program

. Assist with reviewing and coordinating shop drawings submittals, RFI’s, and addendum’s- prior to installation- monitoring installation accordingly.

  • Assist with review and approval of subcontractor application for payment and change- orders with Project Manager.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer (A/E).
  • Assist with developing and maintaining site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Manager.
  • Assist with conducting quality control inspections; Coordinating site testing and inspection efforts (Special and Progress Inspections)
  • Assist with monitoring project costs, including labor time and material.
  • Assist with managing schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules (Four (4) week look- ahead schedule) and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates.
  • Prepare thorough daily reports including, but not limited to, accurate reporting of any weather-related delays, subcontractor, or owner delays.

· Coordinate field issues with Owner’s representative, Engineers, and Architect of record.

· Assist Project Manager with project schedule, contracts, and issues with Owner, Subcontractors, and A/E; to facilitate the progress of construction.

Minimum Requirements / Required Skills:

. BA/BS in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.

. 5+ years experience as a construction assistant superintendent / superintendent (Aviation sector preferred- but not required).

· Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products; Knowledge of Prolog.

· Overall understanding of industry; hands-on-experience; Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.

· Strong written, verbal communication, management, and good math/ accounting skills.

· Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs.

· Team player, excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with others; excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.

· Ability to review and analyze schedules and changes to determine the impact on a project.

· Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.

· Strong decision making/problem solving skills; delegating work appropriately.
