Assistant MEP Superintendent- Electrical Focus-

To support our growing operations, we have an immediate need for a talented and experienced Assistant MEP Superintendent- Electrical Focus- to join our team for a major public works project in Queens, New York. We are teaming with Tishman Construction Corporation to deliver this project. It is anticipated that the selected candidate will work directly at the JFK- project site.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in Coordinating, Overseeing and Supervising MEP- scope of work with s focus on Electrical work: monitoring and documenting contractor’s timely and accurate execution of work, including their compliance with project schedule.
  • Possessing skills and experience to assist, oversee, supervise the performance of MEP construction activities including, but not limited to, high and low-voltage systems, control wiring and circuitry, Tel-Data, fiber-optics, CCTV installations and operations, Con Ed service, feeders, risers, back-up generators, transfer switches and switch banks, transformers, and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Managing and coordinating inspection staff, contractor’s trades from inception to close-out on large and complex projects. Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, architects/engineers, and contractors.
  • Assist in coordinating efforts of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Assist in coordinating Special Inspections, daily progress inspections, electrical testing services, and NYFD Fire Alarm inspections.
  • Updating Testing Logs as needed.
  • Reviewing and advising on field conditions and RFI’s.
  • Reviewing Electrical drawings for constructability and code compliance.
  • Performing other duties as may be required, and as directed.

Minimum Requirements / Required Skills:

· BS/ AS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction.

· Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing, as it relates to core and shell construction projects.

· 7 + years’ experience supporting construction projects focused on MEP work, electrical focus.

· Well-developed communications, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills.

· Overall understanding of industry; hands-on-experience; Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications.

· Strong written, verbal communication, and management skills.

· Team player, excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with others; excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products; Knowledge of Prolog.
