Applications Engineer

 

Job Summary:

· Estimating costs and writing proposals for automation and machinery projects.

· Support sales team through the development of proposals that structure a project by accurately capturing cost, risk, lead-time, scope, and terms

· Work with sales to understand customer needs and develop a solution that fits the application, specifications, and budget

· Good communication skills for communication internally and externally with You outside vendors, suppliers, current and potential customers

· Develop proposal documents and drawings and cost estimates for custom solutions that meet customer specifications and needs

· Design and build custom automation, fixtures, and solutions that include various applications

· Assist in expansion of client base

· Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers

· Coordinate with sales/engineering to gather information for potential projects

· Travel with sales team on an as-needed basis to review applications and understand scope

· Consult with engineering throughout entirely of project

· Review proposals with engineering, sales, and management prior to approval for submission to the customer

 

 

Required Skills:

· AutoCAD 2D (Solid works design experience is a plus)

· Technical 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or similar

· Ability to clearly and professionally communicate, both written and verbal

· Microsoft Programs: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Understanding of custom design and concepting

· Negotiation skills
