Monday: Off

Tuesday: 11am - 8pm

Wednesday: 11am - 8pm

Thursday: 11am - 8pm

Friday: 9am - 2pm

Saturday: 9am - 2pm

Sunday: Off

An Gymnastics Instructor supports the Lead and is the support of Serious Fun during our regularly scheduled classes.

Gymnastics Instructor

Instructors report directly to the Program Director and are responsible for teaching exceptional classes and delivering The Little Gym programs according to standards and recommendations. To teach the best classes, an Instructor must be physically fit, energetic, and enthusiastic. S/he must learn several different Lesson Plans and be able to implement them based on the needs of individual students and classes. An Instructor must have the ability to juggle several tasks and adapt well to change. S/he must relate well to children, parents, and team members. Instructors are also the front line of customer communication and service. They must be able to assist in the promotion of The Little Gym and sell the program at every opportunity.

Instructor Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Proven performance through experience in teaching or coaching children in a related field is required. Background or training in any of the following is ideal
• Gymnastics (or other related sport) performance/coaching
• Physical Education
• Child Development or Education
• Kinesiology, Anatomy or Physiology
• Sales and/or Customer Service

Instructor Responsibilities:

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, position responsibilities include:

• Reinforcement of the Core Values and Mission Statement of The Little Gym
• Thorough understanding of The Little Gym philosophy and program
• Communicate information accurately and professionally to customers
• Contribute to a fun and productive work environment
• Protect quality of The Little Gym curriculum through proper use of lesson plans and training materials
• Assure all safety guidelines are met and maintained, creating a safe environment for the Team and customers
• Assist in the achievement of enrollment and business goals as identified by the Owner or Directors
• Maintain and increase member retention from semester to semester
• Responsibilities are subject to change. Anything that needs to be done…do it. We work as the Team, not as the individual

ALL Instructor Duties:

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, position duties include:

• Work with the Program Director to complete Instructor training for all programs (classes, Camps, Birthday, PSN, etc.) you teach at The Little Gym, using the Instructor Training System (ITS) and other training resources, tools and formats (Training videos, Lesson Plans, Skill Cards, Developmental Gymnastics Manual, Extranet documents, role plays, etc.)
• Study and commit to memory all Lesson Plans (Classes, Camps, Birthday, PSN, etc) and specific, age-appropriate objectives for each program you teach at The Little Gym
• Participate in evaluations and feedback sessions designed to improve your teaching ability, as scheduled and facilitated by the Program and Gym Directors
• Attend Team meetings and training sessions as scheduled by the Owner or Directors
• Review and practice weekly class announcements as assigned by the Program Director, ensuring that you are prepared to deliver appropriate benefit communication to parents during each and every class
• Participate in the weekly gym set-up, as scheduled by the Program Director. Manage your time prior to each class or event to prepare the gym, equipment, music, etc.
• Maintain a safe, fun and productive class environment through the use of proper class management techniques, safety guidelines and assessing the needs of the group
• Deliver superior customer service in the lobby and at front desk as scheduled
• Convert trial class participants into members and retain them from semester to semester through the teaching of great classes, thorough communication, and asking them to enroll
• Ensure that student records are maintained accurately, including attendance, family records and account information
• Assist in the daily phone calls; marketing, “no-show,” trial reminder, make-up, etc.
• Maintain safe classroom conditions. Report any unsafe equipment or materials to Gym Director. Take appropriate action to correct any problems
• Participate in cleaning and maintenance of the facility
• Complete and follow up on accident reports as necessary, and notify the Gym Director
• Effectively resolve customer concerns or requests. Report issues that you cannon settle to a Director
• Perform opening and/or closing procedures as scheduled
• Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the Owner and Directors within given time and quality specifications

Assistant Instructor Specific Duties:

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Lead Instructors’ duties include:

• 80 – 95% of working hours will be spent teaching exceptional classes as scheduled. Variation in time is dependent on other tasks and responsibilities assigned
• The Assistant Instructors are responsible for leading some elements of classes or events, while providing support to the lead instructor for other elements. S/he is often the person that resolves one-on-one class management issues, and makes sure that things are running smoothly in class so that the Lead Instructor can lead. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up and taking down small equipment, handling music changes, etc.
• The Assistant Instructor will look for guidance on their duties from the Lead Instructor within a given class. See the Instructor Training System for more details on duties within the classroom
• Work with the Program Director to complete Assistant Instructor training for all programs (classes, Camps, Birthday, PSN, etc.) you teach at The Little Gym, using the Instructor Training System (ITS) and other training resources, tools and formats (Training DVDs, Lesson Plan DVD, Skill Cards, Developmental Gymnastics Manual, Extranet documents, role plays, etc.)
• Once trained, fill in for Lead Instructor if an absence should occur

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Gymnastics: 2 years (Preferred)
• Parent/Child Instruction: 1 year (Preferred)
