Job Summary:
The Bucks County Intermediate Unit is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Instructor to join our team. As a Special Education Instructor, you will play a critical role in providing academic, community, and social instruction to support the educational programming and physical needs of special education students assigned to our Intermediate Unit programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver curriculum, prepare lessons, and other instructional materials to meet the needs of students, aligning with state standards.
- Student Support and Safety: Oversee the safety of students and staff throughout the day, adapting and modifying instructional materials as needed.
- Technology and Data Management: Maintain technology for students and classrooms, collecting and reporting data daily/weekly on Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- IEP Development and Implementation: Develop, write, and implement IEPs, utilizing evidence-based instructional materials and assessments.
- Behavior Support and Supervision: Follow school-wide positive behavior support plans and individualized behavior plans, with no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Education and Certification: Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree, PA Special Education Certification, and PA K-12 Regular Education Certification.
- Communication and Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively across various team members, including parents.
