Our Client is seeking a part-time MRI Technician II to perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. MRI Technician will aid physicians and other medical personnel by performing a variety of tasks including operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and performing diagnostic testing. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. This is the second of three levels within the MRI Technician series. 

 

Department: Orthopedics Knee Simulation

Responsibilities

  • Operate a magnetic resonance imaging scanner to obtain images used by the study for Data collection.
  • Operate console and peripheral hardware using study appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Enter and monitor patient and study data. Transfer images from disk to electronic media.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals set forth by the protocol and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Works under the general supervision of the MRI-designated radiologist while following study protocol. Will report to a chief technologist or manager.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiology or similar field is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience required with MRI/Radiology. Over 4 Years of Experience preferred.  
  • Registration/Certification in MRI with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Other licensing/credentials as appropriate to the state within which they are performing this function (may vary by state).
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

·         A sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients.

·         Attention to detail.

·         The capacity to follow a physician's instructions.

·         The ability to work with a team.

·         Valid driver's license and insurance.

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.  

 

Work Environment: This position will take place primarily in a hospital environment.

 

Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.
