- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant filings.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's compliance and identifying potential tax-saving opportunities.
- Assist in tax planning activities to optimize the organization's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
- Regulatory Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to governmental agencies, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Maintain documentation and records to support regulatory filings and respond to inquiries or audits from regulatory authorities.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data and transactions to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Identify areas of potential tax exposure or risk and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls related to tax compliance processes to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather necessary information and support tax-related initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on tax matters, providing guidance and training to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Audits and Investigations:
- Assist in the preparation for and coordination of tax audits and investigations by regulatory authorities or external auditors.
- Compile documentation, respond to inquiries, and facilitate communication with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Tax law and regulatory knowledge
- Financial analysis and reporting
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in tax software and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to details
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
