Little City is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered individual for the position of Special Education Teacher for its Therapeutic Day School. This is full-time days (Exempt), 40 hours per work week with a ($3000 Sign-On Bonus), paid in two Instalments.

Salary  

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER RATES:

              BA/BS: $60,116

              MA/MS: $66,403             

SPECIAL SIGN ON BONUS - $ 3000 PAID OUT IN 2 EQUAL INSTALLMENTS IN A YEAR

Qualifications

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

  1. A Bachelors degree in Exceptional/Special Education or a field meeting requirements for an individual to obtain a Professional Educator License with an LBS1 endorsement.
  2. Experience working with students on Autism spectrum and/or Experience working in a Special Education Cooperative or Intensive District Special Education Program, preferred.

 

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the School Principal, the Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives. Additional duties include, but not limited to:

· Responsible for direct supervision and daily instruction of students with autism and other intellectual disabilities.

· Provide small group instruction to students diagnosed on the Autism spectrum and/or students with developmental disabilities to ensure understanding and progress in the general education curriculum.

· Develop weekly lesson plans and implement learning goals and objectives, in alignment with general education curriculum, ChildBridge Center for Education Curriculum and student’s IEP.
