  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and preparation techniques.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.

  • Regularly monitor and record food temperatures and follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) protocols.

  1. Dietary Requirements and Special Diets:

  • Follow dietary guidelines, including therapeutic and modified diets, as prescribed by healthcare professionals.

  • Accommodate specific dietary needs, allergies, and preferences of residents.

  • Ensure proper labeling of food items and allergen information.

  • Coordinate with dietary aides, dishwashers, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal service.

  • Communicate with the dietary manager and team to address any issues or concerns related to menu planning, food preparation, or resident feedback.

  • Maintain open and respectful communication with residents and their families regarding their dietary needs and preferences.

  1. Inventory Management:

  • Assist in inventory control and management of food supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.

  • Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring quality and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is preferred.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift objects up to 50lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
